WHAT ARE FORMWORK DRAWINGS?

Formwork drawings are execution plans for building components made entirely or partially of concrete. They represent the shape of the formwork or the mold in which the concrete is poured to produce the desired component. Formwork drawings serve as a means of communication between the planner and the constructor. Therefore, the type of drawings as well as the number and position of the sections should always be specified so that the constructor has a clear picture of the component’s shape.

The civil engineers or designers are in charge of the creation of formwork drawings in which the accurate dimension, layout, views and sections of the components are shown based on the execution plan. Do not confuse formwork drawing with formwork planning. Formwork planning shows the individual panels or slabs that form the negative mold for the concrete.

We have provided drawings for many constructions over many years. Have a look at our projects.

FORMWORK DRAWINGS FOR BASEMENT CEILINGS OR UNDERGROUND PARKING - EXAMPLE

There has been an increasing demand in formwork drawings for buildings with basements. In many cases, ceiling areas in basements do not usually have a superstructure and are only covered with a slope to ensure proper drainage. In addition, basement ceilings which receive earth pressure often have higher degrees of reinforcement and additional shear force or punching shear reinforcement or special built-in parts. When planning the reinforcement, the feasibility is of great importance.

FORMWORK DRAWINGS FOR FLOORS SLABS - EXAMPLE

In formwork slab drawings, the components below the ceiling, which support the ceiling, are always shown. In addition, components above the ceiling can be displayed as an invisible line or hatch. Furthermore, formworks contain information on the location and the number of built-in parts such as anchor rails, pipes, sealed plates, steel profiles etc. These elements must be placed in the formwork before concreting and are firmly anchored in the concrete afterwards. According to the drawing, there is a negative mold on construction site
